A Swedish ad firm, Publicis Stockholm, came up with a three ad campaign for Amnesty International against female genital mutilation. They appear beautifully illustrated and yet at the same time very clear in its symbolism, however nasty the topic is.
What a powerful concept, and yet so simple..it's one of those "why didnt i think of that?" moments! Have you seen the "Good 50×70 2008" project? It was a competition to create posters for different global political and social issues. I also posted an ammnesty international poster which you may like: http://louisedaniels.blogspot.com/2008/07/family-tree.html
Such a powerful image that conveys perfectly a strong emotional subject without being in your face. The tone of voice is obviously an amnesty international campaign helping the viewer to recognise their work instantly. The subtlety is just right which makes it so striking.
